CLASS DETAILS
Join weaver/instructor, Yasmin Martin, for this fun, beginner friendly workshop. In the first class, we’ll take an hour to review some weaving terminology, basic techniques, and watch a weaving in progress, first hand. The class looms will be dressed and ready to weave on, giving us plenty of time for the fun part, weaving a scarf! Once your scarf is woven, you’ll learn how to take it off the loom and do the necessary finishing work to take your handwoven scarf home!
If you’ve ever wondered about Rigid Heddle Loom weaving, but were unsure, this workshop is perfect for you!
Bio
Yasmin has been working with fiber for over 30 years, including crochet, embroidery, rug hooking, bead weaving, basketry, tapestry weaving, hand loom weaving, and most recently, spinning. She discovered rigid heddle looms 7 years ago, and fell in love with these small, versatile looms. “They are the perfect balance of simplicity and functionality.”
