Course Description: In Part I, basic photographic techniques will be covered, including camera controls, exposure, focus, types of files and file management, and an overview of software for digital post-processing. In Part II instruction will focus on the elements of composition as well as creative techniques such as intentional camera movement, finding abstract images within larger compositions, adding textures and borders to enhance images.
Objectives:
Understand how to use a digital camera
Digital image capture
Digital Post Processing
Familiarity with elements of composition
Developing photographic creativity
Participants should have a digital camera that has manual controls or, at a minimum, program modes for various shooting situations such as sports, close up, landscape, night, and portrait. When they come to class they should also have a camera manual, fully charged battery and an empty memory card.
