Colorful Carved Clay Platters with Jenn Fayard
$50.00
Thursday 27 6-8PM and Saturday May 29 10AM-12PM
$40 (plus $10 for clay, glazes and firing your piece in Emergent Arts’ kiln)
Age: High School to Adult
In this class, students will create a colorful carved clay platter. In the first session, students will learn how to roll a clay slab, and will then receive hands-on guidance for how to create their platter. In the second session, they will paint a design on their piece using underglaze (students may use their own design or a template provided by the instructor) and carve texture into the piece. After the class sessions, the pieces will be bisque fired, then coated in clear glaze and fired again to create a lovely, durable, functional piece they can use in their homes.
After payment is received, we will send you a zoom link via email. Kits with materials will be ready for pickup prior to class. Scholarships available – email erin@emergentarts.org for information
*A generous Elisabeth Wagner grant allows us to supply some materials at a greatly reduced rate
