Digital Class 3-Beginner’s Wool Felting-Doll Ornament

$80.00$195.00

Friday, October 22, from 5:30-8:30, via Zoom

*This class is part of a series of three that prepare you for the final Doll Making Workshop. These courses are highly recommended before proceeding to the final Doll Making Workshop, but are not required. The first 3 courses can be purchased altogether or separately. See options in the drop-down menu.*

This is a basic introductory class were we will learn needle control and explore the properties of wool, silk and a variety of other fibers. We will challenge our inner muse to design a small doll using an armature which can hang as a tree ornament or from a rear view window. Because it is wool you can add essential oils directly to the ornament and use as an air freshener. You will have enough supplies to make another doll at home.

This class offers 2 options of tools:
$80 (Basic tools Kit)
The Basic tools kit includes 12 felting needles in 3 sizes, 1 awl, 5”x5” Earth Harmony felting foam, 1 set of finger cots to protect yourself from needle pokes. (It happens) storage box included.

$100 (Super tools Kit)
The Super tools kit includes 30 felting needles in 3 sizes, 1 awl, 1 single needle holder, 1 6-needle punch tool (needles included), 1 pair small sewing scissors, 1 pair of tweezers, 5”x5” Earth Harmony felting foam, 1 set of finger cots to protect yourself from needle pokes. (It happens) storage box included.

Materials participants should bring :
You may want to have a bag for storing your foam, tools, project and wool together. If you purchased the basic kit, you may also want to acquire a pair of small sewing scissors and tweezers.

Stacie is a professional artist working mostly in the 3 mediums of paint, pyrography and wool fiber arts. Her home state of New Mexico manifests in her art through both imagery and the vibrant colors of the desert sky.

Need based scholarships available. Email kara@emergentarts.org for an easy, non-invasive application.
