The basic to intermediate stone setting class will include fabrication and setting techniques for pendants with bales and ornamentation and the setting of round, oval, pear and navette shapes.
The class kit will include a complete set of proper stone setting tools, pliers, cutters, and soldering clamps for the students to keep, plus sterling and fine silver bezel stock, fancy bezel prong stock and wire, sheet and solder and the various shapes of natural stones to set for at least the 4 class projects.
Students will learn how to design, layout, measure, assemble, solder and set; creating different types of bezels and fancy prong settings, how to build proper seats for their stones, soldering, adding details and how to create various bales and finish their pieces plus various stone setting techniques and methods which will enable them to extend their skills to more advanced stone setting techniques in the future.
This class will also allow more advanced students to create ring tops, as well.
