Belly Dancing (high school and adult): Thursday, October 1st – Thursday, November 19th (6:30pm – 7:30pm, weekly). Join instructor Cassandra Parks for ATS Level 1 Belly Dancing, which is an elegant system of steps danced in various formations. Using cues, transitions and musical phrasing students will create improvisational choreography. In Level I students will learn the basic system of ATS in a fun and supportive environment! Music for Little Ones (ages 3-6): Tuesday, October 6th – Tuesday, December 15th (10:00am – 11:00am, weekly). This unique class is designed for early childhood students and explores the full range of music appreciation. Students will learn how to read a grand staff, the families of an orchestra, what a leitmotif is, how to follow timing and rhythm, and will get to play hand bells, harmonicas, and maracas! Printmaking Workshop (high school and adult): Tuesday, October 6th – Tuesday, October 27th (7:00pm – 8:30pm, weekly). Basic and innovative printmaking techniques printed by hand. Students will explore small relief printing with styrofoam, eraser or lino cut, direct transfer (trace) monotypes, reductive monotypes and xerox transfer as well as stencil monotypes. Learn To Draw (high school and adult): Wednesday, October 7th – Wednesday, December 16th (7:00pm – 9:00pm, weekly). This is a beginning course in drawing for anyone wanting to discover their ability to draw, with an emphasis on drawing for pleasure. Learn basic skills in drawing and rendering techniques using pencil, charcoal, and ink. Students will complete drawings in class and at home. Pantomime Time (ages 8-13): Wednesday, October 7th – Wednesday, October 28th (6:00pm – 7:00pm, weekly). This fun class will teach students the craft of portraying emotions, actions, and moods without sound. Students will learn how to fully embrace a character through movement and the class will culminate with a pantomime performance for family and friends. Explore Painting (high school and adult):Thursday, October 8th – Thursday, December 17th (7:00pm – 9:00pm, weekly). This course is an introduction to painting, an overview that allows students to experience various mediums. Students will learn about the materials and basic techniques for working with watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints. Drawing skills will not be emphasized. Intro to Printmaking (ages 6-14) : Tuesday, October 20th – Tuesday, November 24th (4:00pm – 5:15pm, weekly).Basic and innovative printmaking techniques printed by hand. Beginning Jewelry Making (high school and adult): Thursday, October 22nd – Thursday, December 17th (5:00pm – 6:30pm, weekly). Learn the fundamental of jewelry fabrication using craft metal to create rings, pendants, and a free-form. Using a jewelers saw, pliers, files, sandpaper, and other tools, students will learn how to solder, cut and polish metal, and basic stone setting. Students will walk away with many fun projects.
