Call for Art!It's time to start designing your lanterns for the Chinese Lantern Festival! The Chinese or Lunar New Year, which starts February 10, 2024, is the Year of the Dragon. We want to see your designs, using recycled materials and featuring the dragon.Lanterns do not have to be "lantern-shaped" and can be sculptural in form. Creative use of materials and light are encouraged. The finished product must be able to fit through Emergent Arts' front door, and exhibition space is somewhat limited. Emergent Arts will display the art lanterns either in our gallery, or other locations prior to and/or during the Chinese New Year Festival.Individual artists, groups, and classes can all submit.Lanterns are due the last week of January. Please touch base with kara@emergentarts.org with your design plans.
